Celebrate life with your family and friends. A baby boy is a thing of wonder, as all babies are. This lacey invitation is a memory card. Shine, Pearl, No. 10 Envelope is 4 1/8″ X 9.5″ long and will hold a tri-fold card from a full sheet of Stardream Metallic paper, Bluebell. The envelope is a little longer than the card, but the fullness of the card and the decorations take up space so it fits in quite nicely. Bluebell is a soft blue-green that is iridescent, pearlescent, and colored all the way through the paper, so both sides are the same lovely blue-green. The shiny Metallic has a striking impact set off by a lace edging in Crush, Natural Citrus: the colors blend well. Using a full sheet of Bluebell, score at 3.25″ from the left, and fold. Make 2 more scores 1/8″ to the left so there is plenty of give in the fold, as this is the front of the card and it folds over the most bulk. Score at 4″ from the right and fold it well, also.
Referring to the photos, use a lacy punch, that is Martha Stewart’s doily punch, and punch along the short side of a Crush Natural Citrus. Cut it to 2.5″ wide and tape it to the front flap so about 3/4″ shows on the inside of the card. Tape down some ribbon and a small flower to the left side, where the ribbon crosses and folds up into tails. Natural Citrus is an earth-friendly blend of citrus by-products, along with 30% recycled waste products, making this a green product. The tone on this paper is a green that blends with the bluebell, for a baby boy card. To restate the boy tone, Crush Hazelnut, also an energy green paper, is used on the inside, along with Shine, Moss, as are the letters on the front, which are glued down. That is Memory Box, Parker, Lower Case, Alphabet Set. All the papers cut well with the letter dies and Martha Stewart’s doily punch. Use your favorite, testing it first to make sure it cuts well, then use the punch both inside and out.
Again referring to the photos, the inside Hazelnut is 8.5″ x 6.5″, cutting at 2.5″, for the two side pieces; cutting after rounding the corners. Note from the photos that the left Hazelnut side piece is off set a bit, to line up with the first score mark. The inside lacey piece of Natural Citrus is 8.5″ x 4.75″ before it is punched, which reduces the length. Stamp before taping it down, to be sure it stamps well and touch up with a fine line sharpie if required. Add the invitation details by hand with the sharpie. Repeat the doily design with slightly smaller insets of Moss Green and referring to the photo, tape down the Hazelnut, then tape down the Natural Citrus and then the Moss Green, adding some blue-green crystals for a little more sparkle. You will love this card and baby shower to come. Enjoy.
