Quietly elegant or creepy crawly, let the fun begin, with Paper-Papers Halloween adventures in invitations and greeting cards. These creepy crawly fun card ideas covers two cards: the haunted house and spiders. Finally a chance to put them on cards and not gross anyone out. For the house I used Spellbinders, Painted Lady Die, in Paper-Papers Crush, Olive, backed by a Stardream Metallics, Gold. The die is a predetermined size and that is the top floor of the house, after cutting off the bottom floor. The Gold just needs to leave room for a big moon from FAV Shimmer, Orange Gold Fusion. The background card is from Crush, Blue Lavender, as is the A2 envelope. The moon is 1.5″ and is punched, as is the little cat. The bat is from Jolee’ s Boutique. The A2 envelope allows you to get 2 cards from a sheet of Blue Lavender cardstock. On the inside you can use either the Orange Gold Fusion or the Gold layered under the Olive to stamp an invitation or greeting to share with kids of all age.
Finally a chance to spider prank your friends. This card has enough elegance to take the creepy out of the crawly. The spiders are shiny and pretty; at least they don’t move once they are glued down. Kidding, they don’t move at all. The card is done in argyle pattern adding a button down look to help you feel in control. Kidding there too, glue them down well. The basic card is Crush, Cherry, A2 size so there are 2 per sheet, with an A2 Superfine Eggshell Envelope in soft white lined in Silver Foil. The soft color matches the lattice Crush, Natural Citrus; it blends well with all of the soft white papers. The lattice is cut from Cheery Lynn’s Lattice Die. You can use any open die that has big openings or use strips of paper crisscrossed. The squares behind the lattice are from Shine, Onxy, and FAV Shimmer, Pure Silver. The squares are 1″ squares; arrange to suit or refer to the photos. The lattice is cut out where the spiders are, so they won’t crawl around, but stay put in the lattice. Jolee’s Boutique did the spiders too.
Shine, FAV Shimmer, and Stardream Metallics are all shiny, a perfect contrast to the matte Crush papers. The moon on the house card shows both the gold and the orange caught by the camera flash. The paper is more blended and consistent in person as, seen in the materials photo, but it was an opportunity to show you both colors at once. Same with the Shine Onyx; it is a solid dark black with a sparkly shine when the paper is moved around. The card photo shows the shine. the materials photo shows the black. Crush papers are eco-friendly, made from residue or organic by-products, which replace up to 15% of virgin free pulp. Save the earth and celebrate Halloween at the same time. They are produced using 100% green energy. These papers use by-products from Olives, Natural Citrus, Cherries, and Blue Lavender. Doesn’t get better than that. The foil lined envelopes are featured as specials; be sure to stock up for Christmas, too. They add a lot of flash to cards by just opening the envelope. The Red, Gold and Silver harmonize with most paper colors, especially if you add those colors to the cards. Paper-Papers is running specials now, so it makes sense to stock up for Thanksgiving, Christmas and family celebrations . Enjoy!
