This card is for your favorite deer hunter and too fun to resist. It is faster than it looks due to the die cutting. Start with Curious Skin Lavender for the dusk of night; score and fold a full sheet in the middle. Curious Skin is a matte paper that is ultra smooth and homogeneous, which is what makes it so amazing to look at and touch: it tends to soak up color into the paper. Add a rectangle of FAV Shimmer Orange Gold Fusion and the contrast is marvelous: it reflects color all over the place, with gold and orange mixed together. It is iridescent pigments that give a wall of complementary moon light. The rectangle is 3.5″ X 6.25″, rounded at the corners, die cut with Memory Box, A Little Rain. Alternately, use a large needle for the holes and sand the back with a nailfile. Tape it down so the top margin is 1.5 ” and 7/8″ from the left fold; it is not centered due to the clouds.
Using FAV Shimmer, Pure Gold, die cut the short edge with a tree punch. This punch is by EK Success, (Martha Stewart),border punch, ” Treeline”: use your favorite. Leave extra paper on the bottom and trim it after it is mounted, so you can adjust all the dies to balance the composition. Mount the trees diagonally, with the Pure Gold tree on the right edge 2″ from the bottom and 5/8″ on the fold side. Use your favorite die or punch and do more trees with a piece of Curious Skin Emerald. That tree punch leaves a border edge on the top, depending on how you line up the paper. If you don’t get the line in a connected stripe, doesn’t matter; you can cut a green stripe. Referring to the photo, tape down a 1/2″ stripe of Pure Gold over the Orange Fusion, starting at almost 2.5′ on the right and 1 1/8″ on the left, at the top of the Pure Gold. Add the green trees next so the tree tops cover the gold stripe. This is the time to add a 5/16″ Emerald Green stripe, if it did not come out with the punch. Add the Pure Gold trees next, offsetting the tree line.
Using Memory Box dies, Puffy Clouds and Deer Trio, or something similar, cut them from FAV Shimmer Hinted Gold. The gold shine mixed with the white paper reflects the gold in the Gold Fusion. Distress the clouds edges if it suits you. Using a little tape and glue add the final design elements that bring it to life. The clouds have hole punch dots from Pure Gold, tying it to the bottom of the card.
For the fun message inside, StazOn was used to add a Birthday Greeting, which like most of my stamping, was touched up with a fine line marker, so stamp before taping anything down. Cut a stripe of Hinted Gold 3″ wide, that runs the full 8.5″ and tape it 1/2″ from the left fold. The fun little paw prints are also by EK Success and couldn’t be more delightful. Amazon has them under Paw Prints by Sticko (EK Success ). Put them all over the place. This fits into an A9 White Pearl envelope, mirroring the Hinted Gold shine. Enjoy.
