One of the many wonderful benefits of handcrafting paper flowers is that you can add gorgeous blooms to your home decor regardless of the blooming season. Although it may take decades for wisteria to bloom if you plant it in your yard, you can create your own bouquet of paper wisteria in just a few hours! Wisteria tends to flower around the middle of summer, so it is the perfect time to make some DIY wisteria vines for a extra dose of pretty in your home or office space.
Start this project by gathering your materials. We used a combination of Violet Satin and Lilac for the soft purple petals, then added luscious green leaves in Moss and Fairway. Find the paper bundle below, or feel free to also pick out your own color palette – wisteria grows in shades of purple, white and pink. Find a full list of the tools and materials you will need for this project on our site here, then stay on that page to download the flower template. Use the PDF if you are cutting the petals by hand, or the SVG if you have a cutting machine.
Once you have your materials ready, follow our photo tutorial below as you craft your DIY wisteria! You can also reference the written instructions from the post on our site. After finishing your flowers, you can style them into an arrangement like ours to adorn your mantle or dining room table. Wisteria has always been a beautiful wedding flower, so why not get creative and make an entire DIY wedding backdrop with these lush vines? The options are endless!
