Everything is finally blooming and so does this card. Some leftover scraps from die cutting, a little tag, and PaperPapers, Pop-tone, Banana Split, will turn into a fun little pocket spring flower card for a personal note or some gift money, adding fun and love to someone’s day.
Your family and friends will love getting so many summer colors in a tri-fold card that has so many images and die cuts packed into 3 small pages with an elegant die cut on the front from Sue Wilson. Her Madeline die is 4.25″ tall and includes 6 separate dies. This card uses 3: the lace emblem, the outer outline and the small circle. Her dies pack a lot of punch and this emblem has two slots, top and bottom for attaching ribbons to your card.
Referring to the photos, the large die is cut in Curious Metallics, Ice Silver,80 lb text. This die has some special features: the emblem by itself will only cut the design into the paper, so you need to use the larger thin outline to cut it out completely (two dies are used for the emblem).
The larger outline is used again to cut the background in Stardream Metallics, Amethyst, 105 lb cover. The small circle from the die set is used to cut a circle from Stardream Metallics, Lagoon, 105 lb cover, which is also used to cut the little tri-fold card inside that creates the pocket. A second circle is cut with Pop-tone, Pink Lemonade, 65 lb cover, as is the tag that slips into the pocket. Referring to the photos, the dimensions used are:
Pop-tone, Banana Split, 65 lb cover, card: 5.5″ x 11″, scored and folded at 4.25″, and 4.25″. The small area is the card front where the emblem is attached. The A2 matching envelope is also Banana Split.
Stardream Metallics, Lagoon, 105 lb cover, inside pocket card: 3.25″ x 8.25″, scored and folded at 3.25″ and 3″, with the hole punched on the 3.25″ area. Add a little ease when taping the pocket with the hole down; the tag is bulky. (One circle behind the flowers is also cut from Lagoon.)
Pop-tone, Pink Lemonade, 65 lb cover, tag: 4.25″ x 2.5″, is rounded at the top corners. (One circle behind the flowers is also cut from Pink Lemonade.) The little taped on accent tag is from Making Memories, Passport. Use your favorite.
Stardream Metallics, Amethyst, 105 lb cover, is the backing for Sue Wilson lace emblem: Cut from the large outline die, also included in the set. it is the biggest thin line. (Also used to cut out the emblem.)
Shine, Violet Satin, 80 lb text, the flower outline decoration on the Lagoon pocket card, inside: 2.75″x5″, cut from a scrap section.
Shine, Moss, 107 lb cover: the little leaves on the front: use whatever punch or die you have. The weight of this paper doesn’t matter. Use what works with your punch or die, or what you have.
Once you have the pieces cut out, refer to the photos for the final assembly: just tape and glue the parts on top of each other. Make sure the little Lagoon pocket card is eased into the fold before you press down, so it opens and closes correctly. Leave a little bulge behind the circle cut out, since the tag is bulky. That uses 1/8 ” ScorTape. Remember Undo will indeed undo anything. The little “Imagine” is from Happy Words by Glitz and Glitter. If you like that one shop for around under this: KI Memories – Sticklers – Glitter Stickers – Happy Words. The Metallic papers are archival, iridescent and pearlescent, adding lots of shimmer. The Pop-tone papers are bright and happy with a smooth matte finish. Use your favorite little flowers. Enjoy.
