Something special for your Special Man, the one that is always there for you. Start with the Speckletone printing it on both sides with the provided document: “Best Ever Dad”. The A9 Black Midnight envelope will be able to hold the Speckletone card once I scored it. The horizontal “Best Dad Ever” with a star was inserted from their provided set, Shapes, and adjusted for size. The font is Magneto 18 pt on both the diagonal and the horizontal print. It was printed on Champagne.

The stars were cut using Sizzix, 65567. To cut the star shape into the Champagne, pick the star size up from the printed star and tape on a side that will be discarded. Put it star side up into the die cut, so you can see when to stop cutting, and roll the star halfway under the roller and then back it out. Might take a couple of tries. Blue Lavender, was used to outline the Champagne. Using a larger size star die, also rolling it partway under the die cut roller. Clip into the sides to get a little space beside the blue star. The self-adhesive Copper Tape adds a little sparkle from Crafters’ Companion, Item # SD13.

On the inside, start with Onyx, and emboss it with your favorite texture. The one pictured is an old folder from Cuttlebug. The wording is also included in this blog; use your own if preferred. It is printed on Crush, Natural Citrus, 81 lb text; a match to the Champagne, just a change to matte. Galvanized is a nice grey to transition from black to white. Each of the papers has its own personality.

Champagne and Onyx, are a combination of natural minerals with organic pigments; also archival so your project lasts. Along with the Galvanized, it is acid and chlorine free. It pops next to the Speckletone, which is also archival, 100% recycled, and just says,” Guy”.

Remake is the interesting paper: the A9 envelope is not just recycled but 25% by-product from leather goods, giving it a really nice strength. The fun doesn’t stop there; Blue Lavender is indeed recycled Blue Lavender flowers. It is 100% recycled and reduces the carbon footprint by 20%.

All these papers are colored on both sides and sturdy to work with, even the text. Substitute what you have when you can; this what I had on hand. The hardest part was making the diagonal lines out of the words and those are included, along with the rest of the wording. Make cards and save the earth at the same time. It doesn’t get better than that. Enjoy!
