Build a Paper Box, Be Creative and Get Organized
Build an Easy Paper Box and Get Organized
As I was trying to cleanup my desk, I found a stack of paper next to a pile of pens and pencils. I wanted to get organized and realized I had all the needed materials to build a box for storing my pile of writing utensils. The paper box I built is both easy to make and versatile to use.
Instructions for Paper Box:
- Print – jump to the PDF and print the box template onto card stock paper of your choosing. Cover/Card stock is recommended as this provides a much sturdier box.
- Cut – Cut out the design by following the “outer-edge” solid lines of the printout
- Crease – Crease along the fold lines as shown in the photo – be sure to fold so your printed lines will be inside the box
- Tape – tape the box as shown. Be sure to use box #2 for your bottom flap due to the lip being larger and allowing for best reinforcement.
I found out that this was easy to build and would be a fun project for kids as they can build the box and embellished it using their own stickers or drawings.
Why do I need to make a Paper box?
You might be thinking, why should I make my own paper box? We can boil it down to a very simple staying organized. Staying organized allows you to boost your productivity, reduces stress, boosts your creativity, reduces anxiety, and offers you more time for your crafts. It is a craft that is great for everyone.
There are always doubts that organizing your life can do all of these wonderful things, but I’ll go through each one and try to convince you why it can be a wonderful thing.
Boosting your productivity, reducing stress and anxiety, all stems from do you know where the items that you need are, are they in working order, and is everything in one place? Building a paper box for your items lets you know that all of the markers, pencils, pens, or crafting utensils are in the same place. Once you put them back in the same they will always be there.
Boosting your creativity with a simple paper box allows you the option to draw, color, paint, or decorate the box in a way that you normally wouldn’t. There is no pressure to make it perfect because at the end of the day it probably won’t be shown off to your friends and family. So it is one way that you can relax and enjoy the simple pleasures of crafting. Also having all your crafting equipment in one paper box or area allows for you to use all of your favorite coloring markers of the same brand. Knowing that all the colors are there in one area let’s you subconsciously know that you can use any color you want. Let your imagination run wild and enjoy creating your next craft.
Finally making a paper box allows you to have more time for your crafts. When you walk into your crafting space if it is littered, messy, or just an overall disarray you don’t want to spend time there. Your brain is so stress on what should I clean up next, oh I didn’t finish that craft there, or my personal favorite what will people think if they see this area? These are all things that don’t help you to enjoy the art of crafting, so why not take some time and build some paper boxes that allows you to be the best crafter or creator you can be! You owe it to yourself!
I really hope you enjoy crafting this paper box and it allows you to enjoy creating much more!
