DIY Colorful Koi Fish Card with Shimmer Paper
Good Luck and good color with Cheery Lynn’s Koi Fish Card and some holographic scraps. Start with Paper-Papers Crush Blue Lavender and size it for a matching A2 Blue Lavender envelope. Cut a full sheet of the Blue Lavender and cut it in half so it is 5.5 inch x 8.5 inch. Scored and folded in the middle is a perfect fit for the A2 envelope. You will get 2 cards per sheet.
Crush is very unique paper: the lavender is added to 30% post consumer recycled waste to create a lovely color that goes all the way through the paper, with lots of smooth tactile feel. To this, add some Silhouette Double Sided Adhesive Paper.
Pull one side of the coating off and apply it to the card front: remove the front coating and add the Koi Fish die cut from Cheery Lynn, using the Basis Colors Sampler Pack, in Dark Magenta. I used a scrap piece of Silhouette that had the circles already cut out, making it a fast choice.
Apply Glitter Flakes with a Tim Holt, Rub-it Scrub-it, and you are almost done.
Cut some reeds from PaperPapers Shine Moss and glue them on the lower left, so the fish have something to eat. Shine is a Shimmer Metallic paper with a full range of highlights.
It is recyclable, biodegradable, acid free, lignin fee, elemental chlorine free, and manufactured without metals or foils and FSC certified. This makes it safe for the Koi Fish to swim around in. They seem to be safe, since they have several holographic bubbles coming up. Enjoy!
