End of Summer is a great time to celebrate the trees and how they change through the seasons; they give us so much. Start with Brown Bag Cardstock, cut it to 10″x 7″, score and fold it in the middle, so the final card is 5″x 7″, fitting in the matching A7 Brown Bag envelope. Referring to the photo, notice the card design is horizontal on the card front. Center a 3″x 4.5″ rectangle of Crush Kiwi.

Kiwi is earth friendly: Crush is a unique paper made using process residues from organic products to replace up to 15% of virgin tree pulp. Celebrate the trees you are saving and they will spread their leaves and celebrate with you.

Brown Bag is a timeless, familiar brown that suits everyone on your list and a perfect earth component behind the tree design.Cut some stripes of FAV Shimmer Pure Gold that are .25″ and .5″ using them to outline the Kiwi; the bottom stripe overlaps the Kiwi rectangle by .25″ at the bottom.

The contrast of the iridescent Pure Gold with the matte Crush is a nice design element. Using Crush Natural Citrus and the Memory Box die, Leaf Canopy, cut the…well, a tree canopy.   If you don’t have this die, duplicate the shape, not being exact; use any large size needle to punch holes in the Citrus, with a random design, and sand the back with a nail file.

Even a regular hole punch will look great. Tape the Natural Citrus canopy to some Shine Moss and cut around the canopy shape, using Moss scraps to make 3 triangles, each 1.25″ tall, 2.5″ on the base, and tape them over the canopy for your tree.

Using scraps of the Pure Gold, die cut some tree branches with the Memory Box die, Row of Trees, and glue them over the base of the tree. Alternately, cut some random tree shapes so there are some curves here and there, using the photos as a guide.

Stamp a message on Crush Natural Citrus and cut a rectangle that is 4.25″x 3″. The Kiwi rectangle is 4 5/8″ x 3 3/8″, rounding the corners on both. Stack them to suit and shine it up with some Pure Gold hole punches and a quirky little Pure Gold stripe.

With a few leftover materials, personalize the envelope to match the card. Center a 4 1/8″x 3 7/8″ Kiwi rectangle. Either use a tag punch in the corner, back it with FAV Shimmer, Orange Gold Fusion, and add another tag on top of it using FAV Shimmer, Pure Gold, or just put them both on top.

The two Gold colors play off each other and add a lot of shine in a small area. Add a ribbon through a hole in the Pure Gold tag. All the papers are inkjet and laser friendly, so you can print the paper before you start cutting if that works best for you. Enjoy.
