Fall colors shimmer with Autumn Leaves

Fall colors shimmer all over this card in celebration of summer’s end. When the leaves turn, the trees are spectacular with gold, orange, and dark ruby with touches of the summer colors tossed in. This card is simplicity itself, so all of your family and friends can celebrate with you: thank you cards, invitations, or just saying hello. Refer to the photos for the papers and the design.

A full sheet of Stardream Metallic, Ruby, will offer two cards when cut in the middle and scored in half yet again. It fits in the Crush, White Corn, A2 envelope. A stripe of Crush White Corn down the middle that is 2″ x 5.5″ will provide a background for the 3″ round circle of FAV Shimmer, Orange Gold Fusion. In the middle of the circle there is a die cut leaf shape that is left over from the positive leaf shape. Any fall shape with a large open area will look great. The circle was cut around the shape with a large piece of ScorTape behind it and gilding flakes buffed into it. If you do not have gilding flakes use glitter or a solid color that suits. This is super easy and fast so you can make lots cards for everyone you know. Change up the paper colors, the cut out design and the card lends itself to any season.

The papers on this simple card bring the flair to the card. The Stardream Metallics are machine made in Italy; the color is two sided, coated and laser printable. It has a sheen when you move the card around that captures the full color range from deeper Ruby to iridescent highlights. The Crush papers are wonderful earth friendly papers that use process residues from organic products to replace up to 15% of virgin pulp. The White Corn is used in this paper, which gives a nice matte contrast to the pearlescent Ruby and Orange Gold Fusion. Since Crush papers are suitable for most major print and finishing processes, you can print the envelopes. For other projects made with the White Corn as a background, you can print, stamp or finish it with all the crafting tools you usually use, while reducing the carbon footprint by 20%. The Crush comes in many nuanced colors that are both soft and vibrant, all of them perfect for fall card making events.

The complementary color, FAV Shimmer, Orange Gold Fusion, is a personal favorite of mine that winds up on everything. It is a mixture of pigments and iridescent particles that seem cross woven to the eye. Turn the paper this way and it is a dark, rich bright orange, then turn the paper a little and the gold sheen glimmers in the light. The photos of this paper do not capture its richness; it is bright, shiny and elegant all at once. It does not ever disappoint. You will use it everywhere, all year long. Enjoy.
