DIY Beautiful 3D Ribbon Card with Shimmer Paper

For a special twist on 3D cards, a little pink and green ribbon plus some double sided tape will bring fun into someone’s day. Using Paper -Papers FAV Shimmer, Pure Gold, card stock, cut a small rectangle 4″ x 5.5″ and put some double sided sticky tape along the top and bottom , on the 4″ side.

The ribbon is 1/2″ wide; the same quality and color on both side.   Cut 7 pieces of each color, 14 in total, each about 6″ to 6.5″ long, depending how much ribbon you have. Starting at the left, put the ribbon on the tape, twisting it once before pushing it onto the bottom tape.

Push down lightly at the top, since you are going to have to pull it up a bit to tuck the green ribbon under it. At the bottom, the layers reverse, refer to the photos: once you start it will become clear. Alternate the ribbon colors.

When you have adjusted the overlaps so the colors look evenly distributed, press the ribbon into the tape and trim the ribbon to fit the card. Cut 2 Pure Gold strips, 1″ x 6″ each, and after scoring the edges to bend them at the 4″ mark, tape and glue the gold strips at the top and bottom, taping down the extra bit on the back. Decorate it last.

Next make the envelope box. Using a Shimmer Paper White Pearl 7″ square envelope and score the sides and bottom 1/4″ in from the sides. After scoring all the sides , fold the score lines both forward and backward , all around the box.  

Carefully open the envelope and square the lines evenly with your fingers into a little 1/2″ wide box. Fold the corner triangles up the sides, gluing them later. Trim the top envelope flap, scoring it 1/2″, the same size as the sides: it should fold nicely over the opening.

Cut 1/2″ Pure Gold Strips that are longer than the sides and tape them onto the sides, taping the extra inside the envelope. On the bottom, punch a circle into the ends of the bottom strip, and tape some green behind it.   Tape and glue the flaps up, using masking tape to hold them while it dries.

Trim a full sheet of Shimmer Paper Pearl card stock lengthwise, to 6.5″ wide, leaving it 11″ long. Score it at 4.75″ and fold it so you have a smaller front than back. Cut more Pure Gold to 2 3/8″ by 6.5″ and tape it inside the card, referring to the photo.

Using Black StazOn ink, stamp your favorite message to the left. Using Curious Skin, Emerald, die cut a leaf filigree for trim: that is Cheery Lynn B12 Tropical Flourish. Add a green crystal. Fold the card and add some leopard crystals and gold letters. Slip in the envelope box, add some love, and make someone’s day fun. Enjoy.
