A Fun Fall Card
Fall transitions are lovely and you truly are able to see every color of nature burst through. So learn below on how to make this Fun Fall Card. It is perfect for autumn and the suggested or your favorite paper to make this project come alive.
Instructions for Fun Fall Card
For this project, we will start with an earth color, Wild, Clay, 111lb cover. Before scoring in half, add some text to it with your laser or inkjet printer. The diagonal design shown in the photo is one way of printing, but you can certainly improvise with whatever text and style you might enjoy. The Pink Permapaque marker was added for more dramatic lines but any marker will do. The Wild is a 35% cotton solid sheet of paper which has the strength for scoring and folding. It is FSC certified and manufactured acid-free with archival properties for permanence.
For the Shine, Moss, 107lb cover, I added a textured plate and rolled it around a pencil to curve it a little bit to give it more of a look like a leaf. The texture plate that was used was one by Tim Holtz, but any will do. The Shine has combined organic pigments with natural minerals, without any metals or foils. Even though in this project the Shine is not printed on it is both laser and inkjet printable.
The Basis, Black, 80lb cover, was hand cut and was made to look like a basic leaf. I did also use a little bit of glitter glue on top of the leaf in the pattern of the edges and veins of a leaf and sprinkled some copper glitter over it. The most wonderful thing about the Basis brand is that they are versatile for almost any project and very pretty.
The little outlines of maple leaves were cut from Pop-Tone, Pink Lemonade, 65lb cover, with Friskars Fall Leaf Intricate Large Paper Punch. The weight of this paper is perfect for a clean cut because not all weights of papers are as easy as this one. Pop-Tone is a collection of yummy colors by French Mills. Since 1871, French Mills have been making paper in Niles, Michigan, and have been able to use hydro generators that were installed in 1922 which has conserved over 1,000,000 barrels of fossil fuels. The colors are added in the pulp, so the color goes all the way through the paper.
The little pastel green flowers are by Recollection Flowers in a 25 pack and they can go anywhere in your crafts. The purple silk, .5” ribbon, is loosely double knotted for bulk and everything is held in place with ScorTape. The flowers got glued, as dd the little red sparkles on the ribbon.
The thing that really sends this card is the Remake, Black Midnight, A9 envelope, which is made of 25% recycled leather and truly holds it all together with style.
