Make your loved ones heart flutter with this DIY hummingbird card
Summer is not gone yet, so the flowers and birds are still enjoying the last of the season. This DIY Hummingbird Card is one that we are sure you are going to love! Make sure to check out how to make it below.
Paper-Papers has a light lavender, Kunzite, by Stardream Metallics. All the shimmer of sunshine is in this paper; it is iridescent, pearlescent and colored all the way through. Euro Metallics makes a euro flap envelope that matches the Kunzite paper. If not, choose Red Lacquer, white or eggshell, or even a gold, but choose the A7 since the card is 5″x7″, folded.
For the card, use Kunzite cardstock and cut it to 10″x 7″, score and fold it in the middle. The rest is easy and fast. Cut some Red Lacquer to 3″x7″ and ScorTape it to around 3/4″ from the left. Red Lacquer is an exotic color by Curious Metallic: mica coated, where sheared metal meets iridescence. It is soft and shimmery; a color that stands alone or blends as needed .
The hummingbird is easy peasy with Cheery Lynn’s Lace Hummingbird Flourish Die B192. Die cut the ornament out of Silhouette Double Sided Adhesive Paper. Remove one side of the facing, adhere it to the Red Lacquer and cover it with gilding flakes, burnishing with the Rub-It Scrub-It. The Red Blaze color has some copper and gold with red highlights; any color of flakes will blend. Both glitter and flocking will also adhere to the adhesive die cut image. Martha Stewart has the little sticker leaves and Recollections has the little flowers. Use what you have. The A7 Euro Flap Kunzite envelope is punched with a corner punch and backed with a square of Red Lacquer. Enjoy!
