Here’s what you are going to need to make this wonderful card that looks like a suit:

Father’s Day Card Supplies

  • 8.5×11 or A4 blue paper
  • Some white paper
  • Some red paper
  • Stickers
  • Ruler
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Start Cutting, Folding & Gluing

Let’s get started making this fun DIY card! Take your blue paper and place your ruler and make a mark at 7.5cm inwards across each corner of the paper. Connect each mark to the other end of the paper using your ruler. Now fold your paper across the line you drew towards the center of the paper. Use your ruler to fold a small triangle at the top of each fold.

Take your scissors and cut a little indent at the top of the triangular folds. Glue one of the big folds along the edge and press onto the other fold to keep everything together. Then glue the bottom of the paper together as well.

Now you will need to create the pocket for this jacket. Take a small bit of white paper and a slightly larger piece of white paper. Cut the red paper so that it looks like two triangles and stick both pieces of paper to the jacket. Take three of your stickers and stick them to the jacket to make buttons.

We need to make the shirt next so take an A4 piece of white paper and fold it in half. Use your ruler to mark a line along the length of the card about 3cm in. Then cut along the line until you reach the fold. Use your ruler to measure the jacket and mark where the triangular folds start on your white piece of paper.

Make a cut down the paper to the marker and then fold this inwards to make the collar. Now it should look like a shirt and you can slide it into the jacket. Ooh, it is so nice to see how quickly his Father’s Day card is coming together!

Take a piece of red card that is 10cm X 10 cm and fold it in half. Unfold it and fold it in half the opposite way. Unfold it again and then fold two opposite corners halfway. Now fold each of these corners halfway again to make a straight line down the side.

Fold one of the other corners inwards to create the tie. Place the top of the tie under the collar of the white paper and glue it down. Now you can write your special message for your Father inside of the shirt! Put everything back together and it’s ready to go. Give your Father a day to remember with this amazing homemade Father’s day card!
